I experimented with different techniques, like using symbols – which were images that I had printed and traced in a simple lined style to represent the riot/revolution.

I also used the actual image and then cut and re-organised it to fit to a similar style that Mike McQuade has and mixed it with typography created with charcoal influenced by James Victore. I was inspired by Victore’s work as his work is very emotional and I saw that it could resemble the chaotic emotions of the riots, as well as the graffiti used during the riots too.
